Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair Class 8 vehicles and equipment
Perform preventative maintenance levels on vehicles and equipment
Ensure parts ordering
Ensure all work orders are filled out correctly
Operate and drive automatic and standard transmission vehicles and equipment
Perform tire repair and maintenance
Ensure work area is cleaned and maintained on a daily basis and reports issues/concerns to supervisor
Use a personal computer with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office software to include: Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Communicate effectively with others, both verbally and in writing
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, superiors, subordinates, and outside vendors and agencies and other employees within the department
Follow safety rules and other accident prevention measures
Complete all work in a timely manner with little or no rework
Perform other work as assigned
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or General Educational Degree (GED)
Proficiency in heavy-duty class 8 engines including Detroit Diesel
Experience is a plus
Must be able to use hand tools and test equipment
Must know general repairs and PM criteria
Must possess the strength and stamina required to work with heavy equipment and work in awkward positions
Must be able to work independently, or in a team setting
